ZYQ IN RUSSIA AND UKRAINE

Entering One's Own Universe—ZY Qigong,
a 2-book series by Mingtang Xu
Outside of China, Mingtang Xu first established ZY Qigong's international programs in Russia and Ukraine 10 years ago. Since then, ZY Qigong has entered the mainstream of healthcare programs in the former Soviet Union. Seminars conducted by Mingtang in Russia and Ukraine are usually attended by 300 to 800 students. Approximately 500 certified Image Therapy healers have been trained, and over 200 certified ZY Qigong instructors teach classes.
Why is ZY Qigong so popular in the former Soviet block?

Mingtang presents
his inaugural lecture to an audience of 1500 upon the opening
of the new treatment center in Moldova in April, 2002.
In the 1990's, Mingtang Xu found himself in Russia and Ukraine at a fortuitous moment as an old system disintegrated and individuals were searching for alternatives in both a practical and philosophical sense. New perspectives replaced old skepticism. ZY Qigong filled a void for those who found their way to it as a way to personal self-development, improved physical vitality and spiritual awakening.
The International Mingtang Foundation is an international non-profit organization established in 1996 when thirty founding members from various countries gathered in Ukraine. Its headquarters is located in the downtown administrative/financial district of Kiev. In addition to coordinating ZY Qigong Associations around the world, the foundation is in the process of developing projects such as acquiring land for the new ZY Qigong University, an herb farm and a healing sanitarium on the Black Sea.
The Kiev Chinese Traditional Medicine Clinic was established in 1992. It employs six full-time doctors, nine staff members, and counts prominent figures of government, the arts and sports among its clients.
The Oriental Culture & Medicine Academy at the Ukraine National Academy of Science was established in 1998 by Mingtang Xu and Professor E. L. Machivet. Machievet first brought acupuncture to the former Soviet Union more than thirty years ago. The academy teaches traditional Chinese medicine, provides instruction to students at the Kiev Medical University and provides continuing education courses for medical practitioners.
The Department of Oriental & Physical Health at Chleliabinsk Physical Education Academy was established in 1997. It offers a five-year Bachelor of Science degree that focuses on ZY Qigong and Image Therapy.

There are two or three ZY Qigong Associations in almost all metropolitan areas of Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. Active associations also exist in Latvia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. In the West, ZY Qigong is widely practiced in Germany and Israel, as the organization continues to grow worldwide.
