ZYQ in the U.S.

Double Rainbow
At a recent workshop, Ernst Kaemke of the Seattle team talked about his experience with ZYQ and the organization's plans for the future:
ZY Qigong Programs and Structure:
As I see it, Qigong in the US at this point is where Yoga and Buddhism were 30 to 50 years ago. That's why we feel the need to do public education and publicity in general. We want to offer a clear idea of what we do at ZYQ, and how we do it so that people can participate at a level that works for them.
Personally, I do this because I find it easier to pursue my spiritual practice when my body is on the way to wholeness again.
I want to begin with the international organization, because internationally Mingtang has already established programs and institutions like those we are working to bring about in the US.
For example, there is a five-year college program in Russia, and the first class of students has graduated from his international Image Therapy program in Beijing, China.
Internationally, the public education and publicity effort is quite well advanced as well. Mingtang appears fairly frequently in the media of many of nations of the former Soviet Union. He has published two books in Russian, and his lectures and workshops draw audiences of 800 and more.
In the United States we implement our programs with the assistance of our advisory board, volunteers, and staff. Mingtang heals clients, does research, and teaches workshops and retreats. He also gives public lectures, informal talks, and is working on a new book. Claire and Ernst heal clients, do regular group qigong practice, and an occasional all night marathon practice. The three intensives held during the summer months in Shaolin, China, advance the practice of Mingtang's beginning, intermediate, and advanced students respectively. At Shaolin, American and International students advance together in a setting that very frequently brings about very rapid progress. Our 5 Day Vashon Island retreat falls in the middle of the spectrum of these offerings. Five days of practice gives Mingtang enough time to work with the energy cycle our bodies require for optimal teaching and retention of the ZYQ exercises.
I want to conclude by restating that, as we see it, in the U.S. Qigong now is at the point where Yoga and Buddhism in the US were 30 to 50 years ago. We want to invite you to work with us to bring an understanding of this ancient art and science to a wider audience.
Please consider helping us by becoming a supporting member of the organization at a level that works for you.
And from my experience, you can help yourself and others by continued practice.
